Work From Home Breakfast

Work-life balance is an ever-evolving talent!

Finding your perfect groove can be especially hard when things change! I started a new job recently and settling into new routines has been an adjustment. Between mastering a new workflow and getting comfortable with the new commute, finding time to cook, exercise and manage my self-care, seemed daunting. PLUS, with all the other aspects of a full life, I wasn't sure how I'd juggle it all. But now that a few weeks have turned to a few months, I may finally have a good routine down, just maybe!

I worked from home today, a key aspect of my work-life balance. Not rushing out of the house makes a significant difference in how my day goes; being close to my food and involved in its creation, makes the day feel even better. So, I started this morning by making a cup of coffee and slowly preparing a lighter take on some breakfast favorites.

I'm a big proponent of eating what you like in moderation and making it yourself, so you know what's in it and can make body friendly substitutions. Don't cook with dairy, use nut based products. Sub sugar for honey. Or, if you are feeling risky, skip the sweeteners altogether; I promise, not everything needs to be sweetened, so you likely won't miss it!

Here are a few photos of an easy homemade breakfast: eggs, bacon, and sweet potatoes at home. Simple!
